Driving Task
# Driving Task
It is subdivided into three sub-tasks:
- Perceiving the environment.
- Planning how to reach from point A to point B.
- Controlling the vehicle.
# What makes up a driving task?
- Lateral Control: relates to steering, i.e. going left/right, straight, tracking a curve, etc.
- Longitudinal Control: accelerating/braking.
- Object and Event Detection and Response (OEDR): Detect objects and events that immediately effect the driving task and react to them appropriately.
- Planning:
- Long Term: Traveling to a destination.
- Short Term: Executing lane-changing maneuvers
- Miscellaneous: Signaling indicators, hand waving 👋🏻, interaction with other drivers, etc.
