Obsidian vs Logseq
I do like both Obsidian and Logseq. Obsidian has so many cool features, while Logseq is just too fluid and easy to dump in.
# Why I’m not switching to Logseq
- Obsidian has better Zotero plugins.
- The new plugin that I’m trying, it has some really great customizability.
- It automatically extracts highlights and images from the Zotero Annotations, without my having to export the notes manually.
- Furthermore, I can specify a color, which won’t be extracted into Obsidian. This allows for more control over what I want to extract and what I just want to highlight.
- Obsidian has a better publishing workflow.
- I can customize it however I want.
- Obsidian has Obsidian Excalidraw.
- Obsidian has more control over how I want to structure my vault.
- This has both, advantages and disadvantages.
# Why I want to switch
- I like Logseq’s writing workflow. It seems more fluid and carefree.
- I think it encourages me to write more. In Obsidian, I tend to restrict myself, thinking where should I place this thought, what should the title of the note be, etc.
- I write and think better in an outliner format.
- I like it’s relational and database type nature.
- Simply tagging and defining useful properties would enable me to have access to the text when I want.
- Obsidian has Dataview and Breadcrumbs, but Logseq seems better in that regard.
