Copenhagen interpretation

Last updated Jun 23, 2022

This interpretation of quantum mechanics was formulated by Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg, two of the “fathers” of quantum mechanics, in the $1920$’s, and is named after Copenhagen, Denmark because that is where they worked. It is the most popular interpretation of quantum mechanics.

According to this interpretation, quantum states are superpositions and measurement collapses the state. 1
